"Come on, Foxie, time to go to bed!" Felix called down to the living room. It was 9:00, after all, and long past time for little fox kits to be in bed.

"Aww, but I'm almost done with my car, daddy!" said the little red fox, already snugly wrapped up in his favourite tie-dyed sleeper and night diapers. He was sprawled out on the floor of their living room, surrounded by his Legos, the cheerfully-decorated Christmas tree to his side.

His daddy walked down the stairs and smiled, watching his baby play. "Come on, pup, you need to get to sleep so Santa Wuff can bring you presents." He knelt down and scooped up the fox pup, cradling him in his arms as the cub tried to squirm away.

"But I wanna finish my car! It's gonna be the fastest ever, and I wanna build a real one just like it when I grow up." The cub grinned and wagged his tail furiously, trying to hide how tired he was.

Felix smiled lovingly and brushed his cub's headfur back "I'm sure it will be, but it's bedtime. And if you've been a good boy, maybe you'll get a racecar from Santa." He gave Kisuna a playful tummy rub and carried him up to bed, turning off the lights with a swat of his tail as they headed upstairs.

"Now, since it's Christmas Eve, you get a special bedtime story. It's called The Night Before Christmas, and it's all about Santa." Felix flipped on the pawprint lamp next to Kisuna's bed, and carefully laid the cub down on the sheets. He pulled back the fluffy down comforter and gently tucked the kit into a soft downy cocoon.

"Yay! My favourite!" exclaimed Kisuna when he heard what his bedtime story would be. He murred happily and cuddled up to his favourite teddy bear, Brownie, and smiled happily up at his daddy. The thick down comforter made him feel warm and secure instantly, and his sleepiness suddenly hit him, making him close his eyes.

Felix sat on a chair next to the bed and wrapped his arm around his cub, cuddling him close while reading the story. He always made sure Kisuna could see the pictures and follow along, knowing that teaching a cub to read early was the best way to make sure they were a genius in the future. He held the cub close while reading, giving him little kisses on the forehead every once in awhile. This was his favourite part of their bedtime routine.

Little Kisuna tried to stay awake to hear the story, but he just couldn't resist the warm softness of his surroundings. He rolled toward his daddy, curled up into a fuzzy ball around his bear, and fell fast asleep, dreaming happy dreams of his favourite food-turned-car, the Rabbit, and what he would do to one if he had it.

Felix finished the story and closed the book, still holding his baby under the blankets. "Nightie night, babe, I love you", he whispered as he kissed the cub goodnight. He carefully slid his arm out from under him, turned off the light, and raised the Winnie-the-Pooh-printed safety rail on Kisuna's bed. Smiling lovingly at his baby, he closed the door, leaving it open a crack in case the cub needed something in the middle of the night.

He went back downstairs and set out a special gift for his cub, a high-speed remote controlled VW Rabbit. It was the fastest he could get, with a custom-built body, and he knew it'd be the perfect suprise for his kit. He made sure to place it on top of all the other gifts, with a small tag that read "To Kisuna, From Santa Wuff". He then ate the mouse-cakes that Kisuna had baked for Santa, leaving one with some bites eaten from it, and went up to his bedroom. He curled up in his own bed, holding onto a large plush fox, and drifted off to sleep himself, dreaming happy dreams of his beloved son.
