How I Became Fluttershy
Posted: April 16, 2013, 10:46 p.m.
Among fellow fans of My Little Pony, I often describe myself as "real-life Fluttershy". On the surface, it fits, sort of; I tend to be shy and quiet about meeting new people, I enjoy the solitude of nature, and while I'm certainly not the embodiment of...
Worst Convention Theme Ever - Furpocalypse 2017
Posted: May 1, 2017, 3:36 p.m.
This choice of theme is questionable from the start, but it could've worked without being significantly worse than what other conventions have done. Unfortunately, Furpocalypse seems to have gone in the opposite direction.

Character design is still a work in progress, more will be coming soon.
Why Furry Paysites Don't Work Well
Posted: April 12, 2013, 1:23 a.m.
Disclaimer: While this article is not specifically adult-oriented, paysites are pretty much only found in the pornography industry, so it does deal with adult concepts. I'm not marking this article as 18+, but reader discretion is advised. As anyone...
Las Pegasus Unicon, and Convention Overplanning
Posted: Feb. 27, 2013, 12:09 a.m.
This past weekend, a new My Little Pony convention, Las Pegasus Unicon, came and went. Normally, this would be just an ordinary occurance, but this con's mere existance turned into a large-scale problem at the end of the con, when it came time to pay...
Trotcon 2012 Report
Posted: Aug. 4, 2012, 4:16 p.m.
I don't usually write con reports anymore, but this is a special case, because I've never had such a great experience at a new con. Depending on your definition of a "con", this was somewhere between my 23rd and 35th con, ranging in size from under-100...
What is Furry?
Updated: Feb. 13, 2022, 7:14 p.m.
This article was adapted from a similar article on the website for Anthrocon, one of the largest furry conventions in the world. I take no credit for writing it, I merely added to it. This site isn't specifically furry, but it draws a significant...
Cycle of Fandom Involvement
Posted: Nov. 5, 2011, 1:54 a.m.
I originally wrote this for a furry forum, but it applies to pretty much any fandom in existance. So if you're not a furry, mentally replace "furry" with whatever fandom you belong to. So, you're a furry now. You've been around the fandom for...
Art Etiquette: Character Design/Use
Posted: Feb. 9, 2011, 12:04 p.m.
1. If it's art from within the fandom, and you didn't draw it, and it wasn't drawn for you, don't use it to represent yourself or your characters. Period. No exceptions. This includes everything from pulling artwork straight from a Google search, to...
Megaplex 2010
Posted: July 29, 2010, 6:07 a.m.
Like a blur, my 12th con has come and gone. Not only was this my first trip to Florida in four years, but my first return to Megaplex since 2006. And, it was pretty nice to go back :-) Roadtrip It was a 14-hour drive from here to Kissimmee, and...
Presenting Furry to the Public: Helpful Resources
Posted: Sept. 21, 2009, 12:29 p.m.
In my years as a fur, and in running furry forums, one of my biggest personal frustrations stems from furries attempting to introduce the fandom to non-furs in their lives (parents, family, friends, partners, etc), and completely failing at it. I can't...
Thoughts on Commissions at Cons
Posted: Jan. 13, 2009, 9:36 p.m.
As I've mentioned before, one of my principal reasons for going to furry cons is to go shopping, and buy art. In recent years, this has exclusively included commissions, I don't really collect prints anymore unless they're big enough to frame and hang...
